Tax Refund Alert

Please do not forget that if you received a cash advance, it will be paid back out of your tax refund. Your tax preparation fees will also be deducted.

For example, if you received a $7,000 cash advance and your total refund is $8,000, do not expect the full $8,000 to hit your account. After the advance is paid back and fees are deducted, you may only receive a few hundred dollars, and in some cases just a few dollars, on your expected deposit date.

Also, if you owe a debt, the IRS will offset it first. No matter how much is left after that debt is taken, your tax preparation fees will still be deducted.

Please keep this in mind before your deposit date so there are no surprises.

If you want to check to see if your refund will be offset call 18003043107

🚨 Tax Refund Alert 🚨

The PATH Act hold has officially lifted for taxpayers who claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit. According to the IRS, many refunds are expected by March 2, and deposits are expected to start arriving next week. In previous years, some refunds have arrived earlier, but there is never a guarantee.

Please note, no deposits will be processed today. Be sure to watch the IRS website this week for updated deposit dates.

Also remember, filing your return in January does not automatically place you in the first batch of refunds or guarantee a specific deposit date. In fact, some taxpayers who file in early February may receive their refunds before those who filed in January.

Refunds can be delayed for several reasons, including errors, fraud filters, identity verification, or wage and dependent reviews. Most of the time, these delays are outside of your tax professional’s control and do not automatically mean there is an issue with your return.

Stay patient and continue checking for updates through the IRS website.

Please do not forget about those advances that’s you received once your refund is disbursed. A lot of you are forgetting 😕 and yes, interest do be charged. It’s the same thing every tax season! An advance is YOUR MONEY that you borrowed from YOUR REFUND!

🚨 REFUND UPDATE 🚨

Where’s My Refund is still updating. If you don’t see a date yet it does NOT mean anything is wrong.

YES you can be ACCEPTED and nothing may show yet because the IRS is behind on processing.

Millions of people have filed already the IRS needs time to process.

Last year the system completely locked for weeks so this is nothing new.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CHECK YOUR MAIL ❗❗❗

Federal AND State verification letters are going out DAILY ‼️

If you get a letter from the IRS or the state:

👉🏾 OPEN IT
👉🏾 READ IT
👉🏾 CONTACT YOUR TAX PROFESSIONAL
👉🏾 FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS

Do NOT ignore it.
Do NOT throw it away.
Do NOT wait weeks to say something

That letter is what’s holding up your refund.

No letter = No verification = No money 💸❌

So check that mailbox like you checking your phone

IMPORTANT CLIENT NOTICE – IRS / STATE VERIFICATION LETTERS

If you receive an IRS or Michigan State Treasury identity verification letter, this is NOT bad and it does NOT mean you’re in trouble.

This is routine. They’re simply asking to verify your identity before releasing funds or finishing processing.

What I need you to do:
• Call me ASAP
• Text me ASAP
• Send me a photo of the letter

Do NOT respond to the letter on your own
Do NOT attempt to verify without your preparer

Responding incorrectly or skipping steps can delay your refund for weeks or months.

If I prepared your return and you receive a verification letter, I need to handle it with you so it’s done correctly and quickly.

🚨 IRS IS OPEN – HERE’S WHAT TO EXPECT 🚨

With the IRS officially open, many of you are already asking about Where’s My Refund, processing times, and the PATH Act, so let’s clear it up.

Once your return is accepted, it typically takes up to 21 days for refunds to be issued. You can track your status using Where’s My Refund on the Internal Revenue Service website updates usually happen once per day, not in real time.

If you’re claiming EITC or ACTC, your refund falls under the PATH Act. Even if your return is accepted early, the IRS cannot release those refunds before mid-February. Most PATH Act refunds begin updating late February and are issued shortly after.

Accepted ≠ Approved
Processing takes time
PATH Act refunds are delayed by law, not your preparer

Patience is key during tax season but accuracy and compliance always come first!!

🚨The bank gets paid before ANYBODY let’s start there 🏦💸

When a client takes a refund advance 💸 BOTH SIDES OWE THE BANK.

👉🏽 The client has to pay back the advance PLUS bank fees before seeing the rest of their refund.
👉🏽 The preparer ALSO has to pay the bank fees tied to that advance before seeing a prep fee.

So no…
The bank doesn’t wait on nobody ⏰
The bank gets paid FIRST. EVERY TIME. 🏦

Just like you don’t get your refund until the bank is paid, Preparers don’t get paid until the bank is paid either.

Refund advances are BANK PRODUCTS 💳
Prep fees are SERVICE FEES 💼
Stop mixing the two.

This isn’t “overcharging.”
This is how the system is set up.
If you don’t like the rules, don’t take the advance

Read your paperwork 📄
