Jon Buxton began fishing in 1981 out of Sand Point Alaska through his wife Laurette Buxton's family. Her family is Aleut Indian, part of the Qaygan Tayagungun tribe of Sand Point. They have three children, Jeremy, Stephanie, and Annie. Boat crew includes Billy Osterback (Cousin), Jay McGrath Jr. (Nephew), Aaron Almanzor (Son in Law), Quinn Padgett, and Josh Padgett.
