One of the biggest year-end headaches I see is business owners waiting until January to figure out:

**Who needs a 1099?**

Before the year ends, take time to:

📋 Review payments made to contractors and vendors.

📝 Make sure you have completed Forms W-9 on file.

💰 Identify payments that may require Form 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC reporting.

💳 Review how payments were made—some payments processed through third-party networks or payment cards are generally reported by payment settlement entities instead.

🏢 Verify names, tax identification numbers, and business classifications.

📅 Prepare for applicable January reporting deadlines.
