End NY State Property Taxes!

Did anyone read this? So we should just continue to accept that our NYS regulators are a bunch of over-spending fools and not push for property tax reform because we need more revenue! Cut expenses AND revenue! Oh, and please don't call my property taxes "Revenue" that really pi**es me off! Anyone else?

It pains us to say this, but Democrats in the State Senate must be kidding. They are pushing for a property tax rebate at a time when New York State is confronting a historic budget deficit of $9.2 billion. I have an idea, reduce costs - hmm, payroll, benefits, pensions...do pensions and lifetime benefits AND high salaries still exist in the private world? Why do they still exist for state, municipal employees, and teachers?

As the state Senate's Democratic majority holds out for property tax relief as part of budget talks, opposition is building from New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Gov. David Paterson.

hmm, wall st. bonus tax to offset property taxes...

Can anyone explain why the Legislature shouldn't impose a modest tax on Wall Street bonuses to recover a portion of our money in order to relieve the property tax burden?
