Women outlive their husbands by about 4 years on average. When that happens, the tax filing status changes and the tax bill can go up significantly. It’s a conversation most couples never have. 💔

Miss your required distribution and the penalty used to be 50%. It’s come down but it’s still not cheap. Knowing the rules matters. 💸

On November 1st, daylight saving time ends, and the clocks fall back an hour. This shift not only gives us an extra hour of much-needed sleep but also serves as a timely reminder to take care of a few things around the house as we approach winter.

So, that said, here is a quick home checklist worth running through as the days get shorter:

✅Turn back any clocks that do not automatically adjust themselves before bed on Saturday night.

✅Test and replace the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. This is one of the easiest ways to keep your household safe heading into winter.

✅Check your outdoor and security lighting. As daylight hours get shorter, having well-lit outdoor spaces can be a key safety step.

Taking care of these small to-do list items can make a real difference in how safe and prepared your home feels all season long.

As always, if there is anything we can assist with, do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to help.

A $400K life insurance death benefit that can also cover long-term care if you need it without buying a separate policy. That’s what a properly structured LIRP can do. 💡

A golfer carries 14 clubs. A framer carries a whole bag of tools. Each one does something different and the wrong tool for the wrong job causes problems. Financial products work the same way. 🏌️🔨

Small saving habits can create meaningful momentum over time.

At SWAN DFW Financial Solutions, we encourage Dallas–Fort Worth families and professionals to start with a strategy that feels realistic:

• Automate contributions to savings or investment accounts.
• Plan ahead for annual bills, taxes, and other predictable expenses.
• Review spending for opportunities to redirect dollars toward your goals.
• Track progress regularly and adjust as life changes.
• Set clear short- and long-term goals, from an emergency fund to retirement income.

Saving is not about perfection or drastic sacrifice. It is about making intentional decisions that support the life you want to live—and helping you Sleep Well At Night.
