Meet Melissa Filipowski, a teammate here at Paywerx!

Melissa joined the payroll world 20 years ago, and it quickly became second nature to her, as her calm nature has benefited her in assisting her clients and teammates.

Melissa's mantra? "Everything is fixable. If a mistake is made, it is not the end of the world; it can be fixed."

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, sharing a good meal, and watching movies. She has been married to her husband, Paul, for 26 years, and she bonds with her daughter over their shared love for browsing bookstores for hours. Melissa enjoys caring for her indoor plants, having acquired a green thumb, and she also cares for three cats: two 18-year-old boys, Teddy and Bear, and an eight-year-old one-eyed girl, Luci.

Meet Peyton Farnsworth, a Payroll Team Lead here at Paywerx!

After earning a degree in Supply Chain Management and Analytics, Peyton stepped into the world of payroll and never looked back, enjoying the blend of his two passions: creating efficient systems and helping others.

Outside of work, Peyton is an avid golfer who enjoys the beauty of the game and spending time with his girlfriend and two cats, Gnocchi and Humphrey Bogart. He earned the Eagle Scout distinction in 2016 and briefly held a world record.

Peyton's driven most in his role by building meaningful connections, stating, "individuality compounds into the fabric of our communities and makes up the feeling of togetherness."

His go-to payroll tip? Think backward and troubleshoot from the end of the process to reveal the issue more quickly than starting from the beginning.

Jody’s payroll journey began unexpectedly—she was asked to step in temporarily and never looked back. With a knack for numbers and detail, she’s been thriving in payroll ever since. She loves that payroll keeps her busy and is never dull.

Outside of work, Jody enjoys movies and puzzles of all kinds, and she and her husband, Greg, are celebrating 25 years of marriage this November!

Her favorite tip? Round times to the nearest quarter hour (15 to 25, 30 to 50, etc.) and enter "in" times as a negative number and "out" times as a positive number, using military time. And her golden rule: always find a way to double-check your work.
