For the final 6 months of 2022, the IRS has raised the standard mileage rate for business travel to 62.5 cents per mile. In addition, the taxpayer can deduct the cost of business parking and tolls. If you are self-employed and use your car in your business, you can deduct the business part of state and local personal property taxes on motor vehicles on Schedule C.

Due to soaring gas prices, the IRS announced a rare midyear increase in the standard mileage rate for the final six months of 2022—to 62.5 cents per mile—for employees who use their own vehicles to conduct business.
