💭 Thinking about buying? These benefits can make a difference long-term.

As always, we recommend talking with a tax professional about your specific situation.

April 15 is the filing deadline — not the deadline to be ready.

If your tax documents are still trickling in, you don’t have to panic. You can file an extension, and here’s what that actually means:

👉 It’s not a red flag. It actually helps you avoid late filing penalties.

👉 You don’t have to give the IRS a reason. File Form 4868 and you automatically get it. (e-file it so you have a confirmation)

⚠️ One thing people get wrong: an extension moves your filing date, not your payment date. You still owe by April 15 — skip that and you’re looking at late payment penalties + interest.

Know someone who’s stressing about taxes right now? Send this their way. 👇

And if you have questions about whether an extension makes sense for your situation — drop them below or reach out directly.

Here's what I personally do to lower my tax bill:

→ Max out my pre-tax retirement contributions
→ Pay my safe harbor estimated tax payments on time to avoid penalties + interest
→ Keep clean + organized books so I know where I'm making and spending my money
→ Work with a professional (aka myself) who understands what deductions + credits apply to a taxpayer like me

I walk my clients through "boring" tax plans every day, but there's nothing boring about tax savings 💸

If you own a business, it's not as simple as just filing a "business" tax return.

The tax form(s) you need to file depend on how your business is set up and taxed.

Here's a general breakdown:
Sole Proprietor → Form 1040 + Schedule C
Single-Member LLC → Form 1040 + Schedule C*
Multi-Member LLC → Form 1065 + Schedule K-1*
Partnership → Form 1065 + Schedule K-1*
S Corporation → Form 1120S + Schedule K-1
C Corporation → Form 1120
*Unless you elected to be taxed as an S corporation, then you need to file Form 1120-S and Schedule K-1

If you still aren't sure which tax form you're supposed to file, let me help

An S-Corp could be a game-changer... or it could be the world's biggest administrative headache 🙃

It all depends...

A lot of tax professionals will say you should elect to be taxed as an S corporation at a certain level of profit, and that is *one* part of the equation.

But there are some other factors you'll want to consider before you make any decisions:

If you're curious about being taxed as an S-Corp, you need to consider:

→ Compliance (like additional tax filings + payroll)

→ Whether your revenue supports paying yourself a reasonable salary

→ If the tax savings outweigh the additional costs of compliance

I can run the numbers on a proper cost analysis for your business and see whether an S election is your best move.
