We must go beyond textbooks, go out into the bypaths and untrodden depths of the wilderness and travel and explore and tell the world the glories of our journey. The Transnational Initiative on Governance Research and Education Network, or “TIGRE Net,” is an international group of scholars, students and field specialists dedicated to identifying the opportunities and challenges public managers con
front in the global economy and to providing them with the strategies and skills necessary to overcome obstacles to domestic, cross-border and international coordination. Outputs from the TIGRE Net include several academic conferences and workshops, which have been supported by a grant from the Canadian Social Science and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and academic partners Canada, Germany, Italy and the US. Research from these events has been published in a number of academic outlets, including the recent edited volume published by Routledge entitled Governance and Public Management: Strategic Foundations for Volatile Times (2014).
