02/11/2026
Friday we asked for your ONE money goal for the rest of 2026. The winner was clear: close the books on time every month.
Here's the plain-English way to actually do it:
1. Pick one close day — the 5th works for most owners — and put it on the calendar like a client meeting.
2. On that day, do only three things: categorize the month's transactions, reconcile the bank account, and send any invoice that's still sitting unsent.
3. If a transaction confuses you, flag it — don't let one mystery receipt stall the whole month.
4. End with one number: what did the business actually keep this month?
A closed month in November is a calm January. An open month in November is an April archaeology dig.
Which month are you closing first — October or November? 👇
