Grace at Financial-Grace

Grace at Financial-Grace We specialize in empowering people of faith, especially women of faith — helping them design a confident path to live their best retirement.

We use a compassionate, consultative approach, with education to guide our clients. MY MISSION
To educate and encourage you to discover your own personal money motivation. As a result your level of confidence in making financial decisions will be higher enabling you to take appropriate and relevant action for your financial life. MY VALUES AND CORE BELIEFS. The Golden Rule – Treat others as I want

to be treated
As life would have it, I have experienced very humbling events such as: divorce, being a single mom, debt and loss of parents and my ex-spouse. These events have taught me many life lessons and given me the ability to empathize with you and treat you with respect without judgement. Today, we can only work on what’s to come in the future. There is no changing the past, but only learning from it. Money is not rational. Money decisions are emotional and understanding the emotional component of your financial decisions sets me apart from other advisors. Much of what you read or hear on the news, talks about money strategies. I have found in my practice that strategies or tactics need to be connected to your core beliefs and goals for them to be fruitful. Together, we start with a total understanding of you: your goals aspirations and emotions to deliver a sound, realistic, sustainable plan. Money is not Rocket Science
Often money talk is jargon filled, making you feel that managing money is too complicate or stressful, and takes too much time. I will present information in an unbiased manner and provide enough information so that you can feel confident in making a decision. A large part of my practice is to increase your financial knowledge. I can explain financial concepts/products and make them easy to understand and relevant for your situation.

As we reach the final days of April, I’ve been spending some quiet time reflecting on our "Spring Cleaning" theme. We’ve talked about clearing out the mental junk drawers, sweeping away those nagging "I don’t know" questions, and planting the seeds for a long, vibrant life.

But I also know that for some, the "financial dark" still feels very real.

Maybe you’ve been following my posts all month, but you haven't clicked the link yet. Maybe you’re still holding onto that heavy weight of uncertainty, waiting for the "perfect" time to get organized.

I want to invite you to stop waiting for the light to find you and instead, take one small step toward it.

Planning for your retirement shouldn't feel like a chore or a source of shame. It should feel like opening the curtains on a bright spring morning. It’s about moving from a reactive state of "hoping for the best" to a proactive state of "owning your future." You deserve to know exactly what your money is doing and, more importantly, that it is enough to support the life you want to lead.

If you are still feeling a bit lost in the shadows, let’s bring your vision into focus. I’ve made it as simple as possible through the Ready-2-Retire tool. In about 15 minutes, you can answer straightforward, non-intimidating questions that help you define your goals—no math, no passwords, and no pressure.

You don’t need to provide any personal financial account information. You just need a few minutes of quiet to start building the roadmap you deserve.

Let’s end this month with clarity.

We often overestimate what it takes to get "organized" and underestimate what we can accomplish in just a few intentional minutes.

I talk to so many women who feel like they need an entire weekend, a mountain of paperwork, and a pot of high-octane coffee just to start thinking about retirement. So, they keep pushing it off. But the truth is, the most important part of planning doesn't happen in a spreadsheet. It happens in your mind.

I have a challenge for you this week: Give yourself 15 minutes.

That is roughly the time it takes to brew a fresh French Press and enjoy that first cup. In those 15 minutes, you can move from a vague sense of "I hope I'm doing enough" to a tangible vision of what you want your future to look like.

I use a digital tool called Ready-2-Retire to help my clients do exactly that. It’s an interactive experience that asks straightforward, non-intimidating questions. There’s no math, no digging for account passwords, and no "wrong" answers.
It’s just a simple way to:
Identify what a "vibrant" retirement looks like to you.
Clarify the priorities that deserve your focus.
Spot the potential "what-ifs" before they become worries.

You don’t need to provide any personal financial account information. You just need to show up for yourself for a quarter of an hour.

What could you gain in 15 minutes? A clearer, more confident direction for the life you’ve worked so hard to build.
Take the 15-minute challenge here: https://ready-2-retire.me/gracelongo1

So many women I know are the world’s best caretakers. You’ve spent decades prioritizing your family, your career, and your community. You are the glue that holds everything together. But when it comes to retirement planning, that "caretaker" instinct can sometimes lead you to take the passenger seat while someone else—a spouse, a family member, or a broker—takes the wheel.

I’m here to give you permission to prioritize yourself.

Taking the lead in your retirement planning isn't selfish; it’s essential. It’s about moving from being a passenger to becoming the architect of your own future. It starts with a very simple question: What does your perfect Tuesday look like?

Is it spent in the garden? Traveling to see grandchildren? Volunteering for a cause that sets your soul on fire?

Creating a clear vision of that "perfect Tuesday" is one of the most important first steps you can take. When you define exactly what you want your life to look like, we can build a strategy that works for you, specifically. You deserve to know that every dollar you’ve worked for is working toward the life you actually want to lead.

If you’re ready to step into the driver’s seat, I invite you to try the Ready-2-Retire tool. It’s a 15-minute digital experience that asks non-intimidating questions to help you clarify your own goals and priorities.

There’s no need to dig through old files or share bank account numbers. It’s just a quiet, private space for you to turn your "someday" into a tangible plan.

Most women I speak with aren't looking for a miracle; they’re looking for a sense of peace. They want to move from that quiet, nagging feeling of "I hope I’m okay" to a grounded sense of "I know I’m okay".

The difference between the two usually comes down to how we handle the "What-Ifs." We all have them—those potential risks like rising healthcare costs or inflation that can feel like a heavy weight when they aren't addressed. When we leave those risks in the dark, they take up space in our minds and steal our confidence.

But here is the good news: identifying those risks before they happen isn't about being negative; it’s about being prepared. Creating a clear vision is one of the most important first steps in retirement planning. When you define what you want your life to look like, we can identify the potential hurdles and build a thoughtful strategy to help you clear them.

If you’re ready to see where your safety net stands, I’d like to introduce you to a digital tool called Ready-2-Retire. It is an interactive experience that takes about 15 minutes to complete. It helps you answer straightforward, non-intimidating questions to clarify what matters most to you—individually or as a couple.

You do not need to provide any personal financial account information. It is simply a way to gain clarity and make it easier to communicate what you truly want to accomplish. What do you have to lose? Just 15 minutes to gain a clearer, more confident direction for your retirement.

In the world of retirement planning, we often talk about "the couple." We look at two Social Security checks and a joint tax return. But the reality is that many women will eventually find themselves navigating retirement as a Solo Navigator.
Whether it happens through the loss of a spouse, a divorce, or by choice, planning for one is fundamentally different than planning for two. I know that when the path you expected suddenly shifts, it can feel like you’re navigating in the dark. You might be worried about the "Social Security drop," higher tax brackets, or how to be your own backup plan for long-term care.

I want you to know that while your map might look different than it did a few years ago, the destination—your independence—is still yours to define. Information is the best cure for that heavy weight of uncertainty. You deserve a strategy that recognizes your specific situation and ensures your money lasts as long as you do.

Creating a clear vision is one of the most important first steps you can take. When you define what you want your life to look like now, we can build a thoughtful strategy to help you get there.

If you're ready to see how your solo map looks, I’d love for you to try Ready-2-Retire. It’s a quiet, digital space where you can answer straightforward, non-intimidating questions about your own goals and priorities.

It only takes about 15 minutes, and you don’t need to provide any personal financial account information. It’s just a simple way to gain a clearer, more confident direction for your future.

It is amazing to think about how much has changed for women in just a few decades. For many of our mothers and grandmothers, retirement planning wasn't something they were "expected" to lead. Often, their financial security was tied to someone else's signature or someone else's strategy.

But this isn't your mother’s retirement.

Today, women have more independence, more choices, and more opportunities than ever before. However, that freedom also means we need a personalized roadmap. An "inherited" plan or a one-size-fits-all approach doesn't account for the fact that women statistically live longer, often have different career paths, and frequently prioritize legacy and family in unique ways.

Creating a clear vision is one of the most important first steps in this new era of retirement. When you define what you want your life to look like, we can build a thoughtful strategy to help you achieve it. You don’t need anyone’s permission to take the lead in your own future.

Ready to start your own chapter? I’d like to introduce you to Ready-2-Retire, a digital tool designed to help you turn abstract ideas into tangible objectives. It only takes about 15 minutes and asks straightforward, non-intimidating questions about your goals—no personal financial account info required.

What do you have to lose? Just 15 minutes. What could you gain? A clearer, more confident direction for the retirement you’ve worked so hard for.

There is a specific kind of peace I find when I’m out in my native garden. I love listening to the birds and taking in the beauty of the trees, but that tranquility didn't happen by accident. To have a garden that flourishes, you have to plan for the seasons. You have to think about the spring rains, the summer heat, and the winter frost.

In many ways, a sturdy retirement is exactly the same.

Just as you wouldn't plant a garden without considering the environment, you can't plan a retirement without considering the "seasons of uncertainty" we all face. Creating a clear vision is one of the most important first steps because it helps you prepare for the "what-ifs"—like inflation nibbling at your purchasing power or a sudden healthcare curveball.

When you define what you want your life to look like, we can build a strategy that accounts for those changes. It’s about ensuring your foundation is strong enough so you can stop worrying about the headlines and start enjoying your own "perfect morning."

If you haven’t fully defined what you want your retirement years to look like yet, I’d love to invite you to use a digital tool called Ready-2-Retire. It is an interactive, 15-minute experience that helps you answer straightforward, non-intimidating questions about your goals and priorities.

No financial account info required: You do not need to provide any personal financial account information.
Identify your risks: The tool helps you identify potential risks you may face in retirement.
Clarify your vision: It helps turn abstract ideas into tangible objectives.

What do you have to lose? Just 15 minutes. What could you gain? A clearer, more confident direction for the seasons ahead.

There is a beautiful truth we don’t talk about often enough: Women are statistically likely to live long, vibrant lives, often well into our 90s. While that is a gift, it also means our retirement vision needs to be "sturdy" enough to show up for every single one of those years.

In my office, I often see women planning for the first decade of retirement, but hesitating to look further down the road. It can feel a bit overwhelming to think about thirty or forty years of independence. However, a plan that only looks ten years ahead isn't a strategy; it’s a temporary fix.

A truly sturdy vision accounts for the "Longevity Factor." It recognizes that you deserve to live with your head held high and your needs met, whether you are 65 or 95. It’s about ensuring your money has a job that lasts as long as you do, so you can focus on the things that actually fill your spirit—like family, travel, or your garden.

Creating a clear vision is one of the most important first steps in this journey. When you define what you want your life to look like across the decades, we can then build a thoughtful strategy to help you achieve it.

If you haven't fully defined what you want those later years to look like, I’d love to help you start. I use a digital tool called Ready-2-Retire to help jump-start these meaningful conversations. It’s an interactive experience that takes about 15 minutes to complete and helps you clarify what matters most to you.

You do not need to provide any personal financial account information. It’s simply a way to:

Answer straightforward, non-intimidating questions about your long-term goals
Identify potential risks you may face as a "Solo Navigator" in later years
Generate a personalized profile of your desired retirement lifestyle

What do you have to lose? Just 15 minutes. What could you gain? A clearer, more confident direction for a long and beautiful retirement.

Maybe it was a father, a husband, or even a previous financial advisor. Maybe it wasn't said in those exact words, but the message was clear: "The money is being handled. You don't need to worry about the details. Just trust the process."

For many of the women I work with, this "protection" was well-intended. But over time, it didn't feel like protection. It felt like being a passenger in your own life. It felt like being overlooked.

As we close out Women’s History Month, I want to speak directly to the woman who was kept at arm's length from her own financial reality. This month—and every month after—is for you.

Financial confidence is not about being "obsessed with numbers." It is the ultimate form of independence. It is the ability to look at your future and know that you are the one holding the map. It is the peace of mind that comes from knowing that if life changes tomorrow, you have the tools and the understanding to navigate that change with your head held high.

You have spent a lifetime caring for others and making a difference in your community. You have earned the right to be fully informed and fully empowered. My mission is to ensure that no woman leaves my office feeling like a passenger. You belong at the helm. You belong in the conversation. And you certainly have a "head" for your own future.

Ready to take the wheel? The most important first step in retirement planning is creating a clear vision of what you want your life to look like. I invite you to try a digital tool called Ready-2-Retire. It is an interactive, 15-minute experience where you can answer non-intimidating questions about your goals and priorities.

When we think about spring cleaning, we usually think about scrubbing floors or donating old clothes. But this year, I want to invite you to do a little "Psychological Spring Cleaning."

There is actually strong psychological research behind the power of visualization exercises. When we create a "vision board" or a clear mental picture of our future, it changes how our brains process goals and motivation. It helps turn those abstract, "someday" ideas into tangible, real-life objectives.

In other words, when you can clearly see the future you want, you are far more likely to take meaningful steps toward it.

I see this transformation happen in my office all the time. When a woman moves from a vague sense of worry to a clear vision of her "perfect Tuesday," her anxiety begins to lift. The clutter of "what-ifs" is replaced by a roadmap she actually feels excited to follow. Creating that clear vision is truly one of the most important first steps you can take in retirement planning.

If you feel like your goals are a bit blurry right now, I’d love to help you bring them into focus. I use a digital tool called Ready-2-Retire to help my clients jump-start this process. It is an interactive experience that takes about 15 minutes to complete.

It’s a simple, non-intimidating way to:
Answer straightforward questions about your lifestyle goals and priorities
Clarify what matters most to you personally
Identify potential risks that might be hiding in the corners of your plan

You do not need to provide any personal financial account information to use it. It is just 15 minutes of your time to gain a clearer, more confident direction for your retirement.
