Life insurance has a reputation for being complicated. There are a lot of options, and thinking through the decisions behind them isn't always comfortable.

But understanding what's out there is a lot easier than most people expect. We put together a really clear breakdown of the main policy types—what they are, how they differ, and what's worth considering depending on where you are in life:

"If you inherited $500,000 tomorrow, what would be the first thing you'd do?"

This is the golden question that I always seem to get as a financial professional.
So.....what SHOULD you do?

Pay off debt?
Invest it?
Buy a home?
Save it for your children?

What's interesting is that there isn't one "right" answer.

The best decision depends on your goals, your values, your family, and the life you're trying to build.

That's why advocacy matters.

Too often, people look for the right financial answer or quick-fix when what they really need is the right guide—Someone who takes the time to understand the life you're building—and helps ensure today's decisions remain aligned with tomorrow's dreams.

Because a strategy that works beautifully for one person may be completely wrong for another.

The goal isn't finding the same answer everyone else has.

It's finding the answer that's right for you.

I've recently been working with a client on preserving her mother's estate, & it got me thinking......

Grief doesn't just affect your emotions—it can affect your financial decisions, too.

After the loss of a spouse, parent, or loved one, many people find themselves facing major financial choices while carrying an immense emotional burden.

If you've ever felt overwhelmed, frozen, or unsure of what to do next, that's not a sign of weakness.

It's a normal human response to loss.

The truth is that some of the most important financial decisions are often made during some of life's most difficult seasons.....

That's why giving yourself permission to pause, ask questions, and seek guidance isn't avoiding the decision—it's honoring the significance of it.

You don't have to have all the answers today.

You just need to take the next right step.

I've seen many women inherit assets, accounts, or property—and suddenly find themselves responsible for significant financial decisions they were never prepared to make.

An inheritance can create opportunity, but it can also create uncertainty.

Questions like:
• What should I do first?
• How do I preserve what I've received?
• How does this fit into my long-term goals?
• Who can I trust to help guide me?

The reality is that wealth transfer and wealth stewardship are two very different things.

The women who preserve and grow generational wealth aren't necessarily the ones who inherit the most—they're the ones who build a thoughtful plan around what they've inherited.

If you've recently received an inheritance, take a moment before making major decisions.

A financial windfall deserves a financial strategy.

Between vacations, camps, and all the little extras that come with summer, it's easy to lose track of where the money is going—especially when you're the only one keeping an eye on it.

I came across this genuinely useful roundup of the best budgeting apps for families. It breaks down which ones let multiple people share access, set goals together, and keep kids in the loop too.

Worth a read if summer expenses are starting to feel like a lot to manage:
