You may wonder why you should use a CPA for tax preparation when there are so many free software solutions out there.

As the tax code becomes more and more complex, there are some easy-to-miss tax deductions that may apply to your situation. Free or personal tax software programs simply aren't able to look at your tax situation and ask the right questions to identify the best, most advantageous approach. To avoid this, always be sure to update your W-4 with your employer any time your income situation changes, and be sure to speak with a qualified tax professional if you are self-employed or feel that you are not having enough money withheld from your paycheck(s).
