๐Ÿšจ Most parents will spend thousands on toys before their child turns 18.

But very few will spend time teaching their child how money grows.

The IRS recently introduced Trump Accounts, a new savings and investment option for children. Eligible children born between 2025 and 2028 may qualify for a $1,000 government contribution.

Imagine what could happen if that money was allowed to grow for 18 years.

The greatest gift you can give your child isn't stuff.

It's a financial head start.

๐Ÿšจ Your QuickBooks says you have $5,000.

Your bank says you have $3,200.

Which one is right?

Believe it or not, I see this all the time.

The culprit is usually a missing bank reconciliation.

A bank reconciliation is simply making sure what your books say happened matches what actually happened in your bank account.

When reconciliations are skipped, you may have:

โŒ Missing expenses

โŒ Duplicate deposits

โŒ Uncleared checks

โŒ Incorrect transfers

โŒ Bank fees that were never recorded

And before you know it...

โš ๏ธ Your profit is wrong

โš ๏ธ Your cash flow is wrong

โš ๏ธ Your tax return is wrong

The goal of every reconciliation is simple:

โœ… Every transaction accounted for

โœ… Every deposit matched

โœ… Every expense recorded

โœ… Difference = $0.00

๐Ÿ’ฌ Be honest: When was the last time you reconciled your business bank account?

A. This month

B. Last quarter

C. Last year

D. I have no idea ๐Ÿ˜…

๐Ÿšจ POTENTIAL IRS REFUND OPPORTUNITY: Don't Miss the July 10, 2026 Deadline ๐Ÿšจ

A recent court case may create a refund opportunity for millions of taxpayers who were assessed certain IRS penalties and interest during the COVID-19 federal disaster period (2020โ€“2023).

โš ๏ธ Important: This is NOT an automatic refund.

In many cases, taxpayers may need to file a claim with the IRS by July 10, 2026, to preserve their rights while the issue continues through the courts.

You may want to review your records if you:

โœ”๏ธ Paid late-filing penalties
โœ”๏ธ Paid late-payment penalties
โœ”๏ธ Paid estimated tax penalties
โœ”๏ธ Paid related IRS interest during the COVID disaster period

The deadline to protect your potential claim is approaching quickly.

๐Ÿ’ก Don't assume you don't qualify. A review of your IRS account transcripts may reveal penalties or interest you forgot about years ago.

If you think this may apply to you, now is the time to speak with a qualified tax professional.

๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ Share this post so your friends, family, and fellow business owners don't miss a potential refund opportunity.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Memorial Day.

A day to remember the heroes who gave everything for this country. โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

And while honoring service members and their families, hereโ€™s a tax tip many reservists never knew:

๐Ÿ’ก Certain military reservists traveling more than 100 miles for qualifying duties may be able to deduct unreimbursed mileage, lodging, and meals within IRS rules.

And if those deductions were missed?
๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ Amended returns may still be possible within the IRS timeframe.

A lot of military families miss deductions simply because nobody explained the rules.

๐ŸŒธ Happy Motherโ€™s Day to the moms doing it all. ๐ŸŒธ

The planners.
The protectors.
The snack makers.
The homework helpers.
The ones balancing work, kids, lifeโ€ฆ and still making it happen somehow. ๐Ÿ’™

And while weโ€™re celebrating moms today, hereโ€™s a tax tip many parents donโ€™t know:

๐Ÿ‘€ If you regularly pay a babysitter or nanny to care for your child in YOUR homeโ€ฆ you may have household employer responsibilities.

In some situations, the IRS considers you a household employer, which can mean:
โœ”๏ธ Payroll tax responsibilities
โœ”๏ธ Possible W-2 filing requirements
โœ”๏ธ Household employee reporting rules

๐Ÿšจ California LLC ownersโ€ฆ this is the post you need to read BEFORE another $800 bill shows up. ๐Ÿ‘€

A lot of people create LLCs during their โ€œIโ€™m starting a businessโ€ eraโ€ฆ

Then life happens.
The idea slows down.
The business never launches.

And they justโ€ฆ forget about the LLC.

Big mistake.

โš ๏ธ In California, an LLC can still owe the annual franchise tax fee ($800 per year) EVEN IF:
โœ”๏ธ You made no money
โœ”๏ธ You never opened the business
โœ”๏ธ You never took clients
โœ”๏ธ You โ€œwerenโ€™t really using itโ€

If the LLC is still active with the state?

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ California may still consider that entity subject to annual franchise tax requirements.

And those charges can stack up FAST with:
โ€ข Penalties
โ€ข Interest
โ€ข Collection notices

Iโ€™ve seen people shocked to learn they owe THOUSANDS over an LLC they thought disappeared years ago.

๐Ÿ’ก If you know you are no longer operating the business, donโ€™t just walk away from it.

Properly dissolve/cancel the entity so it stops creating ongoing obligations.

Ignoring it does NOT make it disappear.

๐Ÿ“Œ Save this.
๐Ÿ“Œ Share this with somebody who started an LLC and โ€œforgot about it.โ€
๐Ÿ“Œ Especially your entrepreneur friends in California.
