It doesn't usually start with a crisis. It starts with a feeling.

A quiet sense that retirement is closer than it used to be, and the plan you have doesn't feel as solid as you'd like it to be. Most people push that feeling aside because they're busy, or optimistic, or they figure it'll sort itself out.

But that feeling is actually telling you something.

Sometimes the retirement gap is financial. The savings or the income plan just aren't where they need to be.

But just as often it's about clarity. People who actually have enough but don't know they have enough. People making spending decisions out of anxiety instead of looking at their real numbers.

I've sat across the table from a lot of people who came in uncertain and left clear. Not because we found some dramatic fix. Just because we finally looked honestly at the whole picture together.

If there's a quiet voice in the back of your head wondering whether your plan is as solid as you'd like it to be, that voice deserves a real answer.

The retirement gap isn't always financial. Sometimes it's about clarity. Here's what it really looks like and why an honest mid-year review changes everything.

We are so grateful for this community and everyone who came out to celebrate with us. Already looking forward to the next one!

🌲 This week's travel idea comes from a recent family trip to Yosemite National Park.

It's easy to see why Yosemite is on so many bucket lists. The scenery, waterfalls, and views are truly unforgettable.

Have you ever been to Yosemite?

One of the most common questions I hear this time of year: "Am I actually on track for retirement?"

And the honest answer is that most people are measuring the wrong thing.

Your savings balance tells you where you are today. It doesn't tell you whether your money can do what you need it to do for as long as you need it to.

Four questions worth asking yourself right now:

1) Do you know what retirement will actually cost you each month?
2) Do you have a clear income plan that covers those costs?
3) Have you stress tested your plan against a downturn or a major healthcare expense?
4) Has someone looked closely at your plan in the last 12 months?

If any of those feel uncertain it's not a reason to panic. It's a reason to take a closer look.

This is exactly the kind of conversation we're having with clients right now during our mid-year Strategy and Tactical Season.

Your account balance doesn't tell you if you're really on track for retirement. Here's what actually matters and how to find out where you truly stand.

What actually determines if someone is on track—not just how much they’ve saved?

It’s not just about how much you’ve accumulated—it’s about how all the pieces work together. Income strategy, taxes, inflation, healthcare, and risk all play a role in whether a plan truly supports your retirement. We’ve seen people with smaller portfolios feel confident, while others with more assets feel uncertain.

This is part of what we review during our Strategy & Tactical Season to help bring clarity and alignment to the full picture.

Who says retirement planning has to be boring? 😄 We took things to the brand new in Avon last Thursday for a Social Security & tax seminar — and had a blast! We've been meaning to check it out since it opened and it was worth the wait 🙌 Great people, great conversations, and yes... Willie can still swing a club 🏌️ If you missed this one, stay tuned — more events coming!

How do you know if you’re actually on track for retirement?

Most people think it’s about hitting a certain number, but it’s really about whether your money supports the life you want.

Can you maintain your lifestyle? Can you handle unexpected expenses without added stress? That includes looking at income, spending, and how life changes may impact your plan.

This is part of what we review during our Strategy & Tactical Season to help keep things aligned.
