Snow days with the kids call for a long game of Monopoly. It's crazy what this game can teach you.

5 Teachable moments in Monopoly

#1 How important it is to keep cash on hand = no cash on hand at the end of the game means you have to start selling properties

#2 Focus on cash flow = collecting rent is a form of cash flow and we all know the success to your financial future is freed up cash flow.

#3 Be patient = this game isn't quick but neither is accumulating wealth. Sometimes in business deals patience is a necessity.

#4 Basic math skills = take turns being the banker and help the littles out when needed. 😉

#5 The art of negotiating = this is huge in my opinion. The kids like to negotiate over candy but when you decline buying a property you land on its up for grabs. The kiddos love trying to get a deal on some property, maybe we have some future realtors on our hands.

// CONGRATS SARAH! //

This weekend we celebrated Sarah for becoming debt free. We met with her every 3 months over 2.5 years and in that time she paid off $17,000 in debt and saved $3,000 to date. She is well on her way to a 6 month emergency fund. Oh and let's not forget that murphy came to visit every few months. She had her own struggles but piled on top was good ol murphy. Those tests and trials might of slowed her down but she preserved and pushed through by the grace of God. She didn't give up! {the KEY to success!} Even though she wanted to at times.

Sarah also has a community around her like no other. At the party she took some time to thank everyone for the countless acts of kindness. It could bring tears to your eyes the way everyone came together to support her in her journey to financial freedom. We'll share just a few with you.

Yard work, installing her sink for free, countless lunches & dinners, paid for beach trip to Destin for 7 days, paid for Miami trip for a weekend, gutters cleaned, New Orleans trip, money for her to travel to Utah when her mother passed away, Starbucks coffee, random small gifts, inviting her over for home cooked meals, flowers, and a TON of words of encouragement along the way. I don't know about you but I was blown away during this process. Not every client is blessed with such a supportive community.

Please give her a BIG round of applause. Woo hoo! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

ANOTHER ONE HAS DONE IT!

Wade met with us once and walked away inspired and on fire. He didn't have much debt but he was ready to be done with it. He's got goals and that credit card was holding him back. He works hard and decided to be intentional with his hard earned money. He put every extra penny towards debt and then started saving for his emergency fund. He is well on his way to his next goal, which is to save 20% down for a home.

Oh and he got a raise during this time and money just seemed to flow in for him. It's a testament to when you become a steward with your money things just happen. I don't believe by chance but that's just my opinion. ;D

{CONGRATS NATALIA}

Please comment below and congratulate Natalia for her accomplishment. She got a new job with great income back in May and is blessed to have very little expenses right now. Instead of increasing her lifestyle she chose to live right where she was. She was intentional with her extra income and decided to put it to good use. She is well on her way to invest into her future and build a legacy by giving to her community.

We could not be more proud of her. Way to go Natalia! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

We have a HUGE announcement! One of our first clients from over two years ago is DEBT FREE! We are celebrating her in a couple of weeks. This was a huge feat for her and we are really proud. Kids and money. Do you ever hide what is going on financially with your kids? Well my advice is be open and teach them while they are young. Obviously use discretion, but there's nothing wrong with telling them why you are purchasing something or why you can't or chose not to purchase something. They will grow up having to make the same decisions as us in life so why not teach them how to handle it. They begin to better appreciate the value of a dollar if you make them earn one and then let them spend it. My kids LOVE our monthly trip to the gas station or local store for them to buy something with the money they've earned. You should see their faces. It's priceless.
