Here’s a simple checklist I recommend before closing the books:

✔️ Reconcile all bank & credit card accounts

✔️ Review A/R & follow up on outstanding balances

✔️ Clean up A/P and confirm vendor balances

✔️ Record accruals & prepaid expenses properly

✔️ Review payroll, bonuses, and contractor payments

✔️ Verify fixed assets & depreciation schedules

✔️ Confirm inventory counts (if applicable)

✔️ Review loan balances, interest, and covenants

✔️ Tie out tax filings (sales, payroll, income)

✔️ Final review of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow

The online E-file option for individuals and businesses will close at 11:59pm EST on Friday, December 26, 2025. Any submissions not received by that time will not be accessible until MeF reopens in January 2026.
