6 in 7 Singaporeans still haven't made a Lasting Power of Attorney. Most people think of it as a "later" document. Something for retirement, or for when things start to slow down. That's not how it works.

We had fun at the Retirement and Legacy Planning Fair at Suntec earlier, where it was a bunch of fun, interactive and well-planned booths to get you thinking. Glad that Great Eastern Singapore is helping close the planning and awareness gap! Close to 7,000 LPA certifications have been done through our Great Legacy programme since 2024. The number tells you something. It's a family decision, made early, while everyone still has the clarity to make it.

21 July 2026 - today marks my 11th year in this profession. Went on stage to receive the Court of the Table (COT) and Double Centurion milestone awards at the Advisors’ Clique Collective Dinner & Dance on Monday. I am thankful, and I take nothing for granted. I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey. Thank you for every opportunity, every lesson, every challenge, and every vote of confidence over the past eleven years.

I attended my first ACC Dinner & Dance at the W Hotel in 2015. A decade later, as Advisors’ Clique celebrates its 25th anniversary, we’re back in the very same ballroom.

It’s a reminder that success isn’t built in moments, but in years; through consistency, setbacks, mentors, clients who place their trust in you, and people who choose to grow alongside you.

These days, my greatest joy isn't just chasing the next milestone. It’s building Vanguard and investing in the next generation of advisers with my fellow leaders. The more I lead, the more I realise that leadership isn’t about having all the answers, but about never stopping being a student.

The journey is far from over, and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.

A couple of weeks ago, I got a message that Menteng was closing on 30 May. That hit a bit differently.

I met my fiancée there for the first time. I proposed there. And on Thursday, we hosted what will be the last private event in that space before it shuts its doors. It felt like the right place to start something.

The Straits Roundtable came from a simple observation. The Singapore-Indonesia corridor is full of capital, full of ambition, full of people technically connected. What hasn't kept pace is the relationship infrastructure. The trust-based connections that make all of that movement actually work.

It's also a very noisy moment. There's a lot going on in the world, and also a lot going on with Indonesia; tensions that make long-term thinking feel risky. Which is exactly why I think rooms like this matter more, not less.

Relationships built now, across these two countries, built on honest conversations, are the ones that hold. Every platform I came across was missing something - too transactional, too broad, too shallow. Events where you collect cards and forget the conversation by Thursday.

I've spent years building communities, understanding teams, designing programmes, creating rooms where real development happens. I know what a real room looks like, so we built one from scratch. Curated. Invitation-only. A small group of founders, operators, investors, and trusted advisors who are either building across this corridor or navigating it. No panels. No pitches. The conversations are the product. The room is the product.

Thursday confirmed what I suspected. We wanted to cap at 15 initially - but attendance exploded to 30 and we had to cap it and rework the entire format to keep things intimate and meaningful. The appetite is there. The people are there. What they needed was a table.
