In Singapore, it is common to approach estate planning as a set of documents to be completed and filed: the will, CPF nomination, insurance beneficiaries, and property ownership.

In actual fact, estate planning works best when all parts point to the same direction: it needs to stay current with the life they are meant to govern, especially for the people it is designed for.

So when life moves and the documents don’t, the plan that was accurate at signing gradually accumulates mistakes for a life that no longer exists, and are not easy to fix.

Whether you're ready to review what you have, put something in place for the first time, or work through a will or trust structure with a steward, we'd be glad to sit with you.

The right starting point depends on where you are — and that's exactly what the first conversation is for.

The estate planning mistakes that catch people who thought they were finished — outdated wills, joint tenancy, executor gaps, and plans that have quietly drifted.

Life.

What do you want from it?

What’s truly important for you?

There are moments that make a life, and your wealth is simply there to support them with purpose, care, and perspective.

At Life First Advisory, we take the time to understand your world, bring clarity to complexity, and thoughtfully coordinate the decisions that shape your financial life.

We work with professionals, business owners, and families who value a long-term partnership. This level of care is often reserved for a select few, who share this perspective, beyond the size of their wealth.

Choosing a retirement income planner is often approached as a comparison exercise. Performance, credentials, access. The options are broad: financial consultant, wealth manager, private banker, the list goes on.

Yet, the outcomes are rarely determined by expertise in recommending the right investment products for your later years.

Rather, the right candidate displays an independent point of view and long-term objectivity.

What compounds is an adviser who blends technical competence with a steadying influence: the sound judgement to navigate different life events, the conscientious advice that provides continuity during periods of uncertainty, and the discipline to think beyond today.

Your financial adviser should help you achieve clarity, alignment and long-term confidence in retirement income planning.

“What do you truly want your wealth to make possible?”

For many career-driven professionals and business owners, the first answer is usually a certain level of wealth, by a certain age.

But when our team of trusted advisors probe deeper, the conversation changes. It becomes about a life with more freedom, more time with loved ones, and more room to give back.

At LFA, this is where we believe wealth management should begin - the clarity around the life you want to live.

From there, we help clients turn aspirations into practical financial decisions — the must-have expenses, savings discipline, investment plans, retirement income strategies and long-term wealth frameworks.

Because financial freedom is not just about having more money. It is about having a plan that allows money to support what matters most — through good times, market uncertainties and every season of life.

To find out more about building wealth around the life you want to live, DM “life” to LFA and we’ll be in touch.

When Bingyang’s mother was ill, they used to go for morning walks together.

No big plans. No rush. Just walking slowly, laughing, and being present with whatever time they had.

He still thinks about those walks.

Because in moments like that, you realise what wealth is really meant to protect.

Not the house, the car, or the amount in your account.

But the people you love, and the moments you don’t want to miss.

“Money has a way of quietly pulling us away from the life we actually want,” says the Founder of Life First Advisory.

“It doesn’t always feel dramatic. Sometimes it just feels like pressure and hesitation. Like choosing what is practical over what is meaningful.

That’s why I believe wealth management should be about more than growing money. At its best, it helps people make better choices, make life happen, and keep money where it belongs — supporting life, not running it.”

Lydia Choa, Partner at Life First Advisory, didn’t expect a trip to the mechanic to give her the best afternoon in ages.

“I’d brought my two nieces along, and while the car was being serviced, we hopped on a bus to a nearby mall.

Somewhere on the ride, my younger niece asked to hold hands. Unprompted, it felt like her way of soaking up the day, giving back some of the gladness I’d felt all afternoon.

That’s what wealth looks like to me: the freedom to be fully present with the people I want to look out for, and have them meet me there.

Living life first looks like saying yes to a bus ride with my nieces, and building the kind of wealth that makes moments like this the rule, rather than the exception.”

For Estee Loi, Wealth Advisor at Life First Advisory, living life first means making time for the things that help her reset and recharge.

Whether it's a quiet morning jog, a game of racket sport, or a girls’ night out, these moments give her the space to slow down and appreciate what matters most.

"When I think about wealth, I think about knowing my family is in a good place and that we've built a strong foundation for whatever lies ahead. It's also having the freedom to make time for the people who matter most."

: This scene from The Godfather has Tom Hagen sitting behind Mafia boss Don Vito Corleone.

As the consigliere, Tom plays a crucial role within the Corleone family. He’s a trusted advisor and problem solver, with significant power both inside and outside of the family – all while working quietly in the background.

This is how we envision ourselves at LFA, where the concept of a personal CFO, the loyal and competent advisor like Tom Hagen, provides the head of the family with clear, valuable insights to navigate life confidently.

We operate behind the scenes, bringing together financial expertise, strategic guidance, and a deep understanding of our clients’ goals and values to build a truly lasting financial legacy for generations to come.

Good financial advice is really about life.

The longer we have been doing this, the more convinced we are that the numbers are rarely the hardest part. It’s helping someone get clear on what they want, and then building a financial life that genuinely supports that.

One question we often come back to is this: If you were not in the room, could someone in the family clearly explain your financial picture?

Increasingly, the conversations are about retirement income, liquidity, legacy, family responsibilities, and how to make major decisions well when the stakes are higher.

Nothing is catastrophically wrong.

Different parts of a client’s financial life have been built up over time, but no one has properly connected them.

Our work is to help clients move from scattered and reactive, to clear and deliberate. So they can act with intention, rather than constantly catch up.

This process begins with a discovery, where LFA takes a structured view of the financial position before deciding what needs attention. Speak to us here: [email protected].
