Confession: I used to think talking about money was very 'not humble.'

Like, wah, why so materialistic one.

Growing up, money was never something we discussed openly at home. It was just... something that was never enough, and we didn't talk about why.

It took me a long time to understand that money isn't about materialism.

It's about security. It's about options. It's about making sure the people you love are protected - no matter what happens.

That's why I do what I do.

Not to help people get rich.

But to help them sleep well at night knowing that if something unexpected happens - they have a plan.

By the grace of God, I found my purpose in this work.

And I truly believe that helping someone take control of their finances is one of the most meaningful things you can do for them.

A lot of single women in Singapore don't realise this.

You CAN buy a home alone.

You just need to know the rules - and plan around them.

Here's the quick version:

HDB (resale): You can apply at 35 under the Single Singapore Citizen scheme.

HDB (BTO): You can apply at 35 under the Single Singapore Citizen scheme. You can only apply for 2-room flexi flats.

Private property: No age restriction. You can buy at any time as long as you can finance it.

What does this mean for you?

If you're in your late 20s or early 30s - you have time to build your down payment fund right now.

If you're approaching 35 - it's time to get serious about what you want and what you can afford.

And if you're already 35 - wah, what are you waiting for? ๐Ÿ˜„

The most expensive mistake single women make with property is waiting too long to plan for it.

Start now. Even if the purchase is 5 years away.

Wait for a partner to sort out her finances.

I say this with so much love - because I've seen what happens when women build their financial foundation early.

They negotiate salaries better. Because they're not financially desperate.

They leave jobs that don't serve them. Because they have savings.

They enter relationships from a place of choice. Not need.

They make property decisions on their own timeline. Not someone else's.

Financial independence doesn't mean you don't want a partner.

It means you never need to stay in the wrong situation because you can't afford to leave.

That's not a cold way to look at love.

That's the most empowering way to enter it.

People always ask me - wah, you financial consultant, so serious one ah?

Then they see me on the pickleball court.

I think there's something about sports that reminds me why I do what I do.

You train, you show up, you put in the work - and slowly you get better.

Money is actually the same.

You don't need to be an expert from day one. You just need to start, be consistent, and trust the process.

The women who come to me aren't starting from zero knowledge. They're starting from zero action.

And honestly? That's the easier problem to fix.

Because once you start - you wonder why you waited so long.

Hear me out.

When you're single, every dollar you earn is yours to direct. No joint decisions. No "but I thought we were saving for a holiday." No financial compromises.

That's an enormous amount of power.

The problem is most single women don't use it.

They're waiting.

Waiting for the relationship before buying a home.
Waiting for the right time before investing.
Waiting to feel settled before building wealth.

But here's the thing - the women I see who have the strongest financial foundations?
