Before relying on this month’s profit, ask what supports it.
A useful month-end review should establish:
• Bank balances reconcile, with outstanding items explained.
• Receivables identify overdue and disputed amounts.
• Supplier balances include expenses incurred but not yet invoiced.
• Inventory records reflect quantities, costs and slow-moving stock.
• Significant movements in profit and cash have a clear explanation.
Each reconciliation needs a preparer, a reviewer and a deadline. Unresolved items should have an owner and a next action.
At Clarity Founders, we help businesses strengthen bookkeeping, management reporting and the finance processes behind their numbers.
For accounting practices, we also provide cost-effective white-label accounting support.
Which part of your month-end process takes the most time to get right?
