TGWF: A learning-filled Knowledge Sharing Friday was successfully conducted by Ms. Richelle Mae Gaspe who facilitated a Dream Catcher Craft Making, a hands-on activity where members of the team created symbolic handmade ornaments believed to filter bad dreams and allow only positive ones to pass through.

Ms. Crystal Ann Sisican also conducted a Basic Bookkeeping Session and Accounting Software Training for the management and staff of Arms of Love Philippines, Inc., strengthening their accounting capabilities and enhancing their use of digital accounting tools.

Together, these initiatives continue to create a difference—empowering minds, nurturing creativity, and making impact where it matters.

SEC NOTICE: Extension of Temporary Use of 2020 Form for filing of General Information Sheet (GIS) on eFAST

The Securities and Exchange Commission has extended the temporary use of the 2020 General Information Sheet (GIS) Form for filing through eFAST until 15 May 2026.

Corporations that are still setting up their eSECURE accounts may continue to use the 2020 GIS Form during this extended period.

This extension aims to give corporations enough time to complete their HARBOR access and setup.

The filing deadline for the 2025 Annual Financial Statements (AFS) and related reportorial requirements has been 𝗘𝗫𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗗. This follows the issuance of Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 30-2026 by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

🗓️ Revised Deadlines:
• Annual Financial Statements of All Corporations: 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲
• SEC Form 52-AR of Brokers & Dealers: 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲
• Annual Reports (SEC Form 17-A) with AFS as attachment: 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

All corporations are reminded to ensure that submitted AFS are duly received by the BIR.

Pinalawig natin ang deadline ng filing ng 2025 Annual Income Tax Returns mula April 15 hanggang May 15, 2026. Mas may oras ang bawat taxpayer na makapag-file nang maayos, kasama ang lahat ng kailangang dokumento, at walang ipapataw na penalties.

Maaaring mag-file at magbayad sa pamamagitan ng BIR electronic platforms, o sa mga Authorized Agent Banks.

Ginawa natin ito para mas magaan ang pagbabayad ng bawat Pilipino, lalo na sa panahong ramdam ang pagtaas ng presyo ng langis. Tuloy-tuloy ang ating ginagawa para maibsan ang bigat sa araw-araw na buhay ng ating mga kababayan.

FYI: The SEC is moving to tighten audit standards and expand oversight, particularly for companies involved in large government contracts. Under the proposed changes, firms handling significant public projects will be required to engage SEC-Accredited external auditors under Group A category, while stricter qualification and independence rules will be imposed on audit practitioners. Contractors will also need to submit more detailed, auditor-verified reports, shifting audits from routine compliance to a more active role in ensuring accountability.

For the profession, this sends a signal that auditor qualification is raised and client size now matter more. This means that more is expected from auditors. It also signals the shift toward greater accountability and independence.

For us small-time practitioners, this is a double-edged sword. We may be limited from handling large government engagements, since only top-tier auditor firms will qualify—potentially losing access to bigger clients. At the same time, there’s added pressure to improve audit quality, documentation, and independence, as the SEC shifts focus from credentials to actual audit performance.
