The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) is reminding taxpayers to file and pay their 2024 income tax returns (ITR) by the April 15, 2025 deadline to prevent incurring penalties.

In a statement on Friday, March 28, BIR Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui, Jr. said that adhering to the deadline is important to ensure a smooth tax filing experience.

In line with the implementation of RA No. 11976 (Ease of Paying Taxes Act), the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has recently issued the following Revenue Regulations (RRs):

👉 RR No. 3-2024: Amendments on Percentage Tax and VAT Rules
👉 RR No. 4-2024: Filing of Tax Returns Regardless of Venue or RDO Jurisdiction, Removal of Additional Requirements for Deductibility of Certain Payments, Other Matters Affecting the Declaration of Taxable Income
👉 RR No. 5-2024: Introduction of Risk-Based Approach on VAT Refund Claims, Tax Refunds in Case of Dissolution or Cessation of Business, Policies for Judicial Claims
👉 RR No. 6-2024: Imposition of Reduced Interest and Penalty Rates for Micro and Small Taxpayers
👉 RR No. 7-2024: Updated Registration Procedures and Invoicing Requirements
👉 RR No. 8-2024: Classification of Taxpayers
