Key records include:

• Trust deeds and any amendments
• Financial statements and tax records
• Trustee meeting minutes and resolutions
• Records of distributions to beneficiaries
• Documentation relating to the purchase or sale of trust assets

Keeping these records accurate, up to date and easy to access helps trustees meet their obligations and provides a clear record of decisions made on behalf of the trust.

If your trust records haven’t been reviewed for a while, it could be a good time to make sure everything is up to date and in order.
