Rates just went up. Again. π
The Reserve Bank has raised the OCR to 2.75%, the second consecutive hike, and more could be coming.
Here's what every business owner needs to know:
π¦ Back-to-back hikes by clear consensus of all six MPC members
π Inflation still at 4.1% - above the RBNZ's own forecast
π° Unemployment hit 5.6% - a decade high, also above forecast
ποΈ Auckland and Wellington are feeling it hardest - weak spending, job insecurity, flat house prices
β οΈ The OCR may rise further - but the RBNZ says the path is "not pre-determined"
If you're on a floating rate or rolling over a fixed mortgage soon, stress-test your numbers against 3% or higher before year end.
