A lot of people think that buying more stuff will make them happier, but it often ends up making them feel worse because they spend too much money.
As someone who helps people with their relationship with money, I've seen how important it is to spend money on things that really matter to you.
I had a client who was in a lot of debt and felt like she needed to shop to be happy, but then she realized how much money she was losing to interest fees. We worked together to make a plan for her money that let her enjoy shopping but in a way that was more controlled. She started putting aside a little bit of money each month to save and invest, and it made her feel really good to see her money grow.
This wasn't just about spending less; it was about changing how she thought about money and what it could do for her life. She started to feel happier and more thankful for what she had, and she got excited about her future and being more financially secure.
