Hi Money Owls, lets be encouraged to take one small action. I have 7 ideas for the 7 days in the week. Personally, I practice going Meatless (most days), Strategic Saturdays (I reserve Saturday mornings to think about how I can get closer to my goals, financial or otherwise as well as catching up on actions towards my goals) and finally with COVID restrictions, I practise Social-In (the house) on weekends. Just pick one to get started and make it into a practise or ritual.

SMART SHOPPER HACK #2 KEEP SOME FROZEN FOOD WHEN COOKING IS INCONSISTENT

If you are an inconsistent home chef like me, you probably throw out food that have gone bad or passed its shelf life. That's not good use of money plus I feel guilty throwing out food and so, my answer to the problem was frozen food.

There are a few frozen staples that I keep:
1. Frozen spinach
2. Frozen broccoli
3. Frozen mixed veg
4. Edamame
5. Frozen saba fish - vacuum sealed

Worried that frozen food contains less nutrition? Not according to nutritionists.

A lot less food wastage since I made this move.

SMART SHOPPER HACK #1: PAUSE AND LISTEN TO YOUR MIND BEFORE THE PURCHASE

Result: Savings between RM54 to RM494 (USD14 to USD124)

Today I had to sayonara my fancy sneakers because the special sole can't be fixed. The soles look super great but a dog walker like me don't really need that high performance shoes... and so it was goodbye to my beloved RM800 (USD200) sneakers.

I looked for sneakers with arch support and the 2 options costed RM679 and RM240(after discount). I'm very glad I took the next step, which was to PAUSE AND LISTEN TO MY MIND.

My mind said
"Since both sneakers didn't feel that different albeit the price gap, maybe I can still find a way to pay less and enjoy the same comfort & benefits. What if I got a very good insole with arch support to compliment a good value pair of sneakers. After all, the good doctor said there is no need to go overboard on spending too much on the shoes... just footwear with arch support."

That's what I did and it worked... I walked 1 hour in my new shoes with added special arch support and it feels good!

My mind blew when I realized that I can tap on other people's smarts to build my personal wealth... while I sleep too... great bonus!

Why do we need more wealth? Because wealth/money/finances pays for dreams, early retirement, vacations, family time, college fee and importantly, peace of mind.
