Even though PAYE is deducted from your salary every year, filing an annual tax return is still compulsory. Here’s why:

✅ To ensure your total income is correctly assessed
PAYE is based on your estimated monthly income. Your final annual income may differ due to allowances, bonuses, increments, or changes in employment.

✅ To disclose additional income such as interest income, solar income, capital gain & other secondary income.
These are not automatically adjusted through monthly PAYE.

✅ To correct any overpayment or underpayment
If you paid more tax than required, IRD will refund the excess.
