1. Automated Expense Validation (The “No eTIMS, No Deduction” Rule)

The most critical trigger in 2026 is the mismatch between declared expenses and eTIMS data. From January 1, 2026, KRA began validating all income tax returns (for the 2025 year of income) against electronic datasets.
