"“You’ve got a letter from Revenue Jersey… now what?”

A tax investigation might feel intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be stressful. Here are our top tips for staying calm and getting through it smoothly:

1️⃣ Be open and cooperative.
Revenue Jersey has discretion when it comes to fines. The best thing you can do? Engage fully, be transparent, and work with them — not against them.

2️⃣ Suspect there’s an issue?
Make a voluntary disclosure before they dig. It can massively reduce penalties — and getting professional support at this stage is a game-changer.

We’ve seen these go one of two ways:
💼 Your books are clean, receipts are backed up, everything’s in Xero or QuickBooks — no stress.
🌀 OR… things are messy. No records, personal expenses everywhere, no backup = trouble.

If it’s the latter, don’t panic. But don’t wait either.
Start getting your records in order — and get help.

I am SO excited to finally introduce the newest Berrys Director, Danielle.

Danielle has a strong background in innovation, strategy and business development and is passionate about helping clients grow their businesses ☄️

She’s also a member of the Chartered Governance Institute so will be overseeing the delivery of our governance and regulatory services 📋

We are in the process of introducing all our clients to Dan and she can’t wait to get started!

On a personal note, I would like to thank Danielle for being on this crazy journey with me since day 1! Many late nights and early mornings have gone into bringing Berrys to life and I’m so pleased I finally get to share this news publicly (and force her to do reels with me 😂)
