Central Electricity Authority (Measures Relating to Safety and Electric Supply)
(Amendment) Regulations, 2019.
By this regulation Central Electricity Authority has amended Central Electricity Authority (Measures Relating to Safety and Electric Supply) Regulations, 2010. The same provides for safety provisions for electric vehicle charging stations such as:
8. General Safety Requirement for Electric Vehicle charging stations (Regulation 117)
9. Earth protection system for charging stations (Regulation 118)
10. Requirement to prevent fire for electric vehicle charging stations (Regulation 119)

5. SCADA- Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition- As the power system deals with power generation, transmission and distribution sectors, monitoring is the main aspect in all these areas. Thus, the SCADA implementation of power system improves the overall efficiency of the system for optimizing, supervising and controlling the generation and transmission systems. SCADA function in the power system network provides greater system reliability and stability for integrated grid operation.
Countries like India and China are improving their infrastructure to curb power distribution and transmission losses. SCADA systems can store historical data for trend analysis and reduce manual labor by remotely locating affected sections. Considering these factors, electrical power sector is anticipated to remain the top application sector for SCADA systems during the forecast period.
SCADA leads to increased system reliability reduced interruptions in supply and enabled redeployment of manpower.

Urban and Regional Development Plans Formulation and ImplementationGuidelines (URDPFI-2014) for Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure
The guidelines were Issued by Ministry of Housing and Affairs regarding EV Charging Stations. The guidelines have specified minimum area required for PCS. The same is represented with the help of table hereinbelow:
“Go Electric” Campaign by the Ministry of Power and Ministry of Transport and Road have been initiated to develop the sector more. The campaign is an initiative to bring down import dependency of country regarding fossil fuels. The campaign aims at development of the EV charging infrastructure and to promote green energy for cooking.

The Government of India is aiming to switch to 100% electric vehicles by2030.

Land Acquisition by States for EV Projects
All the State have provided for land acquisition in their EV policy for Charging infrastructure and manufacturers relating to the sector. Some examples of the States are mentioned below:
• Reduction of 50% of Stamp duty for Uttarakhand under MSME Policy – 2015, Mega Industrial and Investment Policy, 2015.
• Madhya Pradesh is giving government land suitable for development of EV
Charging Station.
• Tamil Nadu is giving subsidy on cost of land upto 15%.
