From vineyard weddings to helping business owners stress less over accounts, meet Karen 👋

Karen’s journey into accountancy wasn’t exactly traditional and that’s probably why she’s so passionate about helping business owners today.

Before becoming a director at CJ Ramsay & Associates, Karen worked in catering from the age of 14 before moving into the vineyard industry, where she helped grow the business through events, wine tastings, tours and eventually weddings 🍷

It was during this time she started doing the bookkeeping side of the business and realised she genuinely enjoyed working with the numbers side of things.

After becoming a mum in 2019 to her now 7-year-old daughter, Karen retrained in accountancy during maternity leave and officially became a director of CJ Ramsay & Associates in 2023 alongside Chris.

One of the things Karen loves most about the job is helping business owners feel less stressed and more in control of their finances.

“We enjoy taking something people often find overwhelming and helping them understand it properly. Seeing clients relax knowing everything is taken care of is one of the best parts of the job.”

Outside of work, Karen is usually busy with family life, horses, dog walks, competitions and spending time with her two labradors Charlie & Digby 🐾
