✨ The Three Stages ✨

In my experience, finance work can be split into three very different stages.

1️⃣ Reactive (The Past)
Accounts filed. VAT submitted. Tax calculated.
Necessary, but backwards-looking.

2️⃣ Aware (The Present)
You know your turnover.
You check your bank balance.
You have a rough feel for margins.
Better: Focused on the present, but still important.

3️⃣ Structured (The Future)
You know what your numbers need to look like to achieve your goals.
You model decisions before committing.
You build reserves intentionally.
You hire with visibility.

This is the shift from stressful growth to deliberate growth.

And most businesses hit that shift around the £150k - £300k mark.

Not because they’re failing - far from it.

But because they’re expanding.

If you’re somewhere between Aware and Structured right now, that’s a very normal place to be.
