Sometimes a picture just makes you laugh.

Took this one while I was away in Liverpool a few weeks back and it definitely has “his and hers” energy.

HMRC is now using AI technology to analyse information from more than 30 different data sources to identify potential compliance issues.

Some of the key areas it looks for are:

🔍 Does your declared income support your lifestyle? Could your reported earnings realistically fund the luxury car, expensive holidays or other high-value purchases?

📊 How do you compare to others in your industry? Significant differences from industry averages can attract attention.

📑 Do your records match third-party information? HMRC compares submitted accounts and tax returns against data received from banks, payment providers, online platforms and other sources.

If something doesn't add up, it could increase the likelihood of an HMRC enquiry or investigation.

Make sure your records are accurate, complete and up to date. ❗
