📢 HMRC Direct Debit Changes for PAYE & VAT – What Businesses Need to Know

HMRC is consulting on making Direct Debit the default payment method for most PAYE and VAT liabilities. While this is not yet mandatory, it's important for businesses to understand the proposed changes and be prepared if they are introduced.

✅ Key facts:

• Direct Debit aims to reduce late payments, penalties and interest by automating payments after returns are submitted.

• Businesses would need to set up a valid UK Direct Debit mandate through their HMRC online account.

• For VAT, Direct Debits should normally be set up at least 3 working days before submitting your return. For PAYE and other HMRC taxes, allow at least 5 working days before the payment is due.

• HMRC is currently seeking feedback on these proposals before confirming any implementation date.

💜 Allen, West and Foster are Proud to Support Roshni's Big Give Campaign 💜

At Allen, West and Foster, we are proud to support Roshni and the incredible work they do to provide vital emotional and mental health support to women who have experienced trauma, including domestic abuse, sexual abuse, forced marriage, honour-based violence, and other forms of gender-based violence.

From 22–29 June 2026, Roshni is taking part in the Big Give Campaign to raise essential funds for its Counselling Service. Over the past year, the charity's bilingual counselling service has supported 55 women, with 21 women currently receiving counselling. However, due to limited funding and increasing demand, the waiting list has had to remain closed for the past three months.

The aim of this campaign is to raise enough funds to reopen the waiting list and continue providing life-changing counselling support to vulnerable women across Sheffield over the next six months.

Every donation made through the Big Give platform during the campaign will be matched, meaning your contribution will have twice the impact and help even more women access the support they need.
