🥂🍾Now that the Christmas rush is over and we are all back to it, we would like to take the opportunity to raise a glass (or two) to Dylon Kay who in the last week of December passed his Part 3 and became an Architect. 🥂🍾

🎉 Congratulations to Abbey! 🎉

We’re so proud of Abbey for being nominated at the Architects’ Journal Awards for her master’s project, Inclusive by Design. Her work explored innovative, community-focused housing models that reimagined disused garage spaces to create inclusive living environments, as shown in her project on Highgate New Town.

🎉 HUGE congratulations to Dek's Divers 🪂🪂🪂🪂– Tom Kelly, Garnet Fazackerley, Paul Gerrard, and Mike Hornsby MRICS CMaPS for bravely taking to the skies and jumping from a staggering 15,000 feet! These brave souls to the plunge (literally!) to raise funds for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity 💚

They soared through the sky ☁️ , probably questioning life choices 🤨 😬 😮🤢😱, and landed safely 🥳—adrenaline still running, hair windswept, and probably with a few new stories to tell.

We caught up with Joanne today, and she shared some incredible updates:

“So far we’ve beaten France 12-9 and South Africa 12-3. We're up against the current Olympic Champions, Spain, tomorrow which will be a huge test, before our crossover game against Japan.

As we move into the summer months we’re busier than ever here at JDA, and are looking for a fantastic, experienced Architectural Technologist to come join us in our Manchester office!

At JDA, we’re a vibrant mix of enthusiastic and caring individuals from diverse backgrounds, and we pride ourselves on our creative and collaborative environment. With a medium-sized team spread across multiple offices, we’re able to tackle outstanding projects that put the end user front and centre.

Sound like the kind of place you’d like to be? We're currently on the lookout for experienced Architectural Technologists to join our dynamic practice.

What We're Looking For:
Over 3 years’ experience
A degree in Architectural Technology or a related field
Ideally CIAT qualified
A track record of successfully managing projects
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Familiarity with traditional and Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) including timber, steel and concrete frame
A knack for working both independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail
Familiarity with low rise residential schemes, care, high rise and mixed use.
Skills in Technical, Architectural, and Construction Drawings
Project Management experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD & REVIT software
Knowledge of Building Regulations and Standards
Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Over the last few years we’ve been working with Investors In People in order to give something back to our team and take the time to understand how we can support them.

Here at JDA we have achieved bronze, silver and gold. As a medium sized firm we are extremely proud to have such a great team and have this recognised with these achievements.

Both of our offices will be closed on Thursday 17th April as the whole JDA team attends our annual staff conference.

This day is always a great opportunity for the team to come together, reflect on the past year, and look ahead to what’s next for JDA. We’re also looking forward to hearing from guest speaker Nick Moss, an Architect with over 20 years of experience. Nick will be sharing insights from his career and his recently published book, Blueprints for the Soul, which explores the intersection of architecture and human experience.
