Now that the first week of January is complete we thought it would be the perfect time to post.

We left the first week to allow you, our potential clients, to see what the first week of the new year feels like. Getting back to the grind, shaking off the fun of the festive period and ready to meet new challenges. Not the easiest task to say the least!

Eeeek!!! It’s the Ghost of Christmas Yet to….

…hold on, that’s Ian! Ian chose KeyPoint to handle is accounting affairs many moons ago with respect to being a self-employed electrician.

Since then, Ian was able to grow from being self-employed to being a director of his own limited company where he employs four other people to work alongside him. KeyPoint helped to navigate him through his transition, focussing on the key points important to his growth and establishing a trusted, local presence for his company.

On a trip to Florida, Ian met up with some realtors who liked his portfolio and wanted to do business. Sitting down with KeyPoint to discuss how this could work, he learned about VAT on Services both provided to and provided from the UK. KeyPoint was able to create the perfect group structure to allow Ian to establish a profitable international business. Not bad for a local lad from Lancaster!

Hey! Is that the Ghost of Christmas Present?

….I think it might be Neville who engaged with KeyPoint to manage the accounting of his cafe in Bow but also his personal tax due to a property he rented out in Milton Keynes.

KeyPoint within the first quarter of the year was able to identify efficiencies in the accounting of the cafe that saved time and money. All the staff had secured access to a protected server where they could access their payslips at any point, all the while Neville getting live access to the monthly payroll reports.

By the second quarter KeyPoint was able to advise on the VAT and what can be done to manage the liability efficiently, planning with Neville what was needed and to consider any VAT Schemes which may be beneficial. This meant that the third quarter entered smoothly especially as KeyPoint was able to consider Neville’s personal tax position and advise him on how to make tax more manageable while ensuring the SA100 Tax Return was submitted in advance.

This is why by the time the fourth quarter made its festive entrance Neville had more than enough kept aside for an extra special Christmas lunch….before going to eat at the family’s!

Ahh! The Ghost of Christmas Past…

…or Claire, Susan’s daughter, as she is known for the rest of the year round, is counting her Mummy’s shillings to make sure she has enough money to get all the lovely toys for Christmas. Susan was amused by the whole set up especially as she is with KeyPoint and one of our key points is that manually calculating data is something for history.

T’was the weeks before Christmas,
And all were relaxed.
Except poor old Santa
Thinking about tax.
The Self Assessment deadline was coming too soon.
31st January shouldn’t be gloom.
His accountant, which he had been with for years,
Seemed more interested in fees so he feared.
While surfing the net, an ad caught his eye.
