Holland Hahn & Wills

Holland Hahn & Wills We help our clients understand & design the retirement they want, taking away the worry and stress! Jason joined them in 2000 and become a full partner in 2003.

Simon and Chris founded Holland Hahn & Wills in 1990 to look after senior business executives and their families in London and the South East. They started in Holborn, London and moved the business into Grade 2 listed offices in Hampton Wick in 1998. The partners own the building. Their commitment to sustainability and the community means they’ve carefully restored the property as the business has grown. They shared their 25th birthday celebrations with clients at the Rose Theatre in Kingston.

What a beautiful start to the week! Storm Isha seems to have wreaked a bit of havoc near our Kingston office by the river - lots of branches and debris scattered around. It's because of natural events like this that we encourage our clients to have an Emergency Fund - hopefully the roof has held tight, but a loose tile or a rattling window can be costly if such eventualities are not included in a tailored financial plan. If you have any concerns about your plans, protection or pensions, do just give us a call. It could save you a lot of worry in the long run. Drop us a line at [email protected] or call on 020 8943 9229.

On Tuesday Chris Hirsch and I took the knowledge of Holland Hahn & Wills Financial Planning LLP to a group of post GCSE students at Eton College. We were part of a carousel group discussing budgeting and financial planning. The boys were also given a talk on debt and The Party Scene - ahead of festivals and merriment this summer. Financial education is important to us as a firm - whether helping clients or students. We regularly work with both state and independent schools locally and as part of the Young Enterprise scheme. Tuesday’s session on building personal and financial resilience was hosted by Sarah Austin and the Really Helpful Club and was a fantastic morning, with excellent feedback from both boys and masters. It was intriguing to learn more about the history and traditions of the school.

Shared Economy... What an event!!

Kingston Charitable Foundation CEO, Hicky Kingsbury said:
'Thank you so much to everyone who worked so hard to make Shared Economy happen, a real celebration of what so many individuals and organisations have been doing and are planning to do locally, to support each other and our shared communities'.

The Kingston Charitable Foundation team loved working with event sponsors Wolters Kluwer UK - both in the lead-up and on the day. A huge thank you to their team for going above and beyond, and for sponsoring all the refreshments too.

The event panel were wonderful, thank you to Julie Leach (Chartered MCIPD) - the newly elected President of KINGSTON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, Diane White - CEO of Kingston Carers' Network , Dr Tariq Shabbeer - Secretary General of Save The World Club who all joined KCF CEO, Hicky.

The moderator for this event, Katie (Catherine) Lovatt of Holland Hahn & Wills Financial Planning LLP completed the team, guiding us all through it with delightful warmth, ensuring our panel kept to time and managed the many questions and comments from our amazing audience of leading local stakeholders from all areas of our borough and its different communities, including the 3rd, Public and Business sectors.

Thanks also to Kingston CF team members Justine Belcher and Shelley Heath who were joined by Ilona Saliev, from Kingston Chamber of Commerce, on the day, working very hard behind the scenes and welcoming our guests.

And we loved the beautiful performance at the end! Dancers from London Kim's Dance, performed twice at the end, running up the central aisle to the beat of their drums, surprising our guests; they finished with a stunning knife dance as an encore. Thank you!

And one last thank you... it's to our guests.

I spent Friday morning at a conference discussing the Sandwich Generation. This is something close to my heart as I’m living through this at the moment. Both my husband and I are only children of elderly and increasingly frail parents…and we have children in primary and secondary school whilst both still working. It’s a challenge at times, overwhelming, emotionally draining but I am thankful that we have good financial advice and that I have a very good and flexible job at Holland Hahn & Wills Financial Planning LLP . Key takeaways are:

🥪 To start the conversation earlier - likely easier for the younger generation as discussions about money and longevity are less taboo.

🥪 To have a structure in place - structure gives you freedom.

🥪 Keep in factual and practical rather than personal and emotional.

🥪 Get your important documents in place - Wills, LPAs (lasting power of attorney).

🥪 People don’t make good decisions in a crisis.

And don’t forget, help is at hand. At Holland Hahn & Wills Financial Planning LLP we are always happy to talk things through with people. Give us a call if you want a chat or to put a plan on place. It’s never too late.

Thanks to for the food for thought.
