Client Relationship Manager Sam is on a roll with his personal development, working towards Fellowship with the CII. He's recently recieved a distinction in his Pension Income Options (JO5) exam and has three more to go until he joins Business Principals Ben and Michael as Fellows, making Allen Tomas & Co one of the highest qualified financial advising firms and reinforcing an emphasis to get the very best for clients.

New equipment that will transform the rehabilitation for patients who have suffered a stroke at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) has arrived and is ready to make a difference, all thanks to our donation to the QEHKL Charity. Our annual charity golf event in September last year raised £7500 which was split equally between our three chosen charities, of which the QEHKL Charity was one.

Our LinkedIn colleague Alan Smith has perfectly articulated the value of a Financial Adviser...

"You can be your own financial planner - no need to hire one and pay their fees.

Provided that you: Allocate around 600 hours study time to study for the entry Level 4 Diploma qualification. But this stuff is important and there's a lot at stake, so you probably want to be more knowledgeable and study for your Level 6 qualification.

- So, another 500 hours of study time to get up to speed on the more complex issues around pensions and taxation. There's about 12 exams to take depending on your existing knowledge and qualifications, so you'll need to set aside about 30 hours to sit them all. Most people don't pass them all the first time and so perhaps allocate another 80 hours for further study and re-sits. So, about 1,200 hours in total.

And then, congratulations, you've now got the knowledge you need to get started! All you need to do now is begin to learn about the full range of products, services, options, and strategies in the market. Please note these change on a weekly basis. Alternatively, you could choose to work with a qualified financial planner whos done all that already. They'll be pleased to apply their expertise on your behalf and allow you to focus on what you're best at! Either way, good luck."

It's Feel Good Friday we have some feel good news to share - huge congratulations to our Client Relationship Manager Sam who has recently passed his AF4 in Investment Planning. The exam requires candidates to demonstrate that they are capable of advising clients whose overall levels of income and capital require a more sophisticated range of advice than is normally prepared by a Diploma/Certificate level adviser, making Sam appropriately qualified in assisting our fianncial advisers.

This morning we had the pleasure of hearing from Katie and Charlie from The Adapted Sports Hub Trust where we presented them with a cheque for £2500. The money was raised at our successful annual golf event back in August and will go towards helping to get the Hub project, an adapted sports and community building with disability friendly facilities, off the ground.
