A little business update 💙
I don’t normally post about things like this and I don’t want this to come across negatively, but unfortunately I’m going to have to become a little stricter when it comes to payments.
I’ve always tried to keep things as simple and affordable as possible for my clients. I don’t currently use payment platforms that add additional fees, as ultimately those costs would have to be built into what I charge — something I’ve always wanted to avoid.
Unfortunately, I’ve now had multiple occasions where work has been completed, I’ve continued providing support, and then payment simply hasn’t been made.
As a small business, I can’t continue absorbing the cost of doing work, paying for client subscriptions, taking the time out of my time with my family.. that then isn’t then paid for.
Going forward, I’ll therefore be asking clients to have standing orders/direct debits set up where appropriate, and I’ll need to be a little firmer when invoices become overdue. In some cases, further work may also need to be paused until accounts are brought up to date.
Chasing people for money is probably one of my least favourite parts of what I do, and I’d much rather spend that time actually helping my clients!
This won’t affect the vast majority of you who always pay on time — and as always, if there’s ever a genuine issue with making a payment, just speak to me. Communication goes a long way.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support MP Tax & Finance 💙
