Every business has that one review they’ll never forget. Mine just happens to be a 1‑star; and I treasure it.
A client I absolutely adore wanted to leave a positive review but couldn’t quite navigate the star system. She clicked the wrong end of the scale, sent it off proudly, and I couldn't bring myself to tell her what she'd done.
I’ve kept it visible because it makes me smile, and because it reminds me that intention matters far more than stars.

Today is a special day at Squirrel Financial Planning

Not because Mr Squirrel is a romantic Valentine’s Day planner (he’s not!) — but because today marks our first technical birthday.

One year ago today, our accountant officially brought Squirrel Financial Planning Ltd into existence. We’ll celebrate our official trading birthday later this year, but for me, this is a huge milestone.

We’ve come a long way since then.

Last February, I was planning to be a one-man band, growing slowly and organically. Fast forward to today, and we now have 5 employees, plus an incredible virtual PA who supports our employee benefits offering — and we’re in the process of recruiting our 6th team member. Safe to say, my 5-year business plan lasted about 5 days!

We’ve also opened a mortgage desk with a dedicated member of staff, which is a big step forward for us.

Most importantly, all our clients — whether they moved across with us or are brand new — have been fantastic. We’re incredibly grateful for the trust and support.

We have big plans for this year, continuing to grow and expanding the company so we can provide the high-quality, holistic advice we’re so proud of to even more people.

Here’s to the journey so far — and everything still to come.
