How I’m Building Reliable Monthly Income from Rentals
For those of you who have (or are thinking about) rental property alongside your creative work, it can be a really powerful way to bring in more consistent, reliable income.
I’m an accountant and landlord myself, and I’ve been working on making my rentals not just “tick along”, but properly support my lifestyle.
Most landlords have a goal…but it’s usually something like:
“just keep it going”
Rent comes in. Bills go out.
And somehow… there’s never quite enough left.
I’ve realised that’s not really a plan.
So I’ve been getting clear on mine: 👉 10 units, generating around USD $x net each per month, this could be 10 Airbnb suites or studio long-term lets or a mixture of the two for diversity.
Enough to cover my lifestyle, with one unit covering management and support.
Simple. Sustainable. No chaos.
Because the real question is:
What are your rentals actually meant to do for your life?
