Social Media Association for Business THE ASSOCIATION

The SMA is a social enterprise aimed at working on behalf of the members. WHO IS WELCOME? WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT? Email: [email protected]

The Social Media Association for Business is a forum bringing together diverse organisations and individuals interested in sharing experiences, best practice and strategies using social media and other digital marketing channels. PURPOSE

SMA4B is a business forum bringing together diverse organisations and individuals interested in sharing experiences, best practice and strategies using social me

dia and other digital marketing channels. All profits raised from our activities and events will be retained and used to further enhance the organisation and improve facilities, events and services. We welcome sole traders, SMEs, agencies and corporates. The SMA is a broad church and welcomes contributions from both small business and large organisations alike. We hope all organisations can benefit from the experiences of large budget campaigns to small budget, audacious thinking often found in entrepreneurial SMEs. FREQUENCY & VENUE

The SMA meets once a month in Belfast, Northern Ireland. In April, we'll have our first event in Derry/Londonderry - see the page for more details. If you'd like us to run an event in your area, please get in touch. Monthly Formal Event:

Our monthly format events have been a mix of networking, keynote addresses, specialist panel discussion and open floor discussions. A typical event starts with registration and networking at 6pm, with the keynote beginning at 6:30, with a half-hour address that then leads to a panel discussion and open floor discussion. We're also planning speed networking events and open coffee events; and if you've any ideas for a particular type of event (or indeed topics), please let us know. OPEN COFFEES:

See wall for details. SOCIAL EVENTS:

Christmas dinners etc. COLLABORATIVE EVENTS:

We sometimes team up with other organisations to host join events for the benefit of all our members. Currently we are collaborating with:

- Beyond NI
- University of Ulster
- Open Coffee Mid-Ulster
- Southern Regional College (SRC)
- Gilchrist & Co Accountants
- Downpatrick Business Forum

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED? We are looking for professional digital marketing experts and/or small business owners with inspiring case studies to take part and share expertise, either as a keynote speaker or an expert panellist. SPONSORSHIP

Although we aim to keep the cost of running each event to a minimum and everyone involved is a volunteer, we are taking enquiries from interested sponsors.

I love that Digital DNA have used this photo as part of their Facebook promo for the Digital Ready Leaders Programme...

To be honest I did not know that they were and maybe it has been used by mistake... But!

I am more than happy to be connected in anyway to either the great team at Digital DNA or with the course (even if it is just my smiley bake in a photo). Also nice to be identified with Digital Leadership! :-)

Here's what they say:

Are you a Digital Ready Leader? 🎓 As students return to school and university, take stock of your own skills and career progression.

At Gilchrist & Co we are having to deal with HMRC mistakes on behalf of our clients almost every day!

Things are getting much, much worse not better. is going to be a disaster for SME's but even before that starts in April 2017 we can see that HMRC is making mistakes that could rob self employed people of what little state pension that they are entitled to!

The taxman is introducing errors into self-employed individuals’ tax returns, resulting in their failure to pay sufficient National Insurance, leading accountants have claimed.
