Mileage is one of the most commonly missed tax deductions and it adds up quickly.
Trying to reconstruct your journeys months later is stressful and often inaccurate. Tracking as you go is the simplest way to make sure you don’t lose money.
For 2025/26, HMRC allows:
🔸 45p per mile for the first 10,000 miles
🔸 25p per mile after that
That means 1,500 business miles could reduce your taxable profit by £675.
That’s real money back in your pocket.
From 6 April 2026 HMRC have announced an increase to 55p per mile for the 1st 10,000 miles so start logging your mileage now.
Use an app, keep a log, make it easy. Just don’t leave it until the end of the year.
Not sure what you can claim? Let’s make sure you’re not missing out.
