Scottish Agritourism is delivering an innovative approach to procuring and sourcing food and drink for the Global Agritourism Conference, 23rd - 25th of June.

In partnership with P&J Live, Global Conference menus include produce from 20 farms, including Scottish Agritourism members, supplying fresh salads, herbs, vegetables, soft fruit, cheese, eggs, Scotch Beef, ice cream and home baking.

Meals will highlight healthy, fresh ingredients, with menus thoughtfully crafted to promote wellbeing. Showcasing the full range of Scotland’s seasonal bounty, over 90% of dishes are sourced directly from named Scottish farms, complemented by fresh fish from the Aberdeenshire fishing community.

Caroline Millar, Sector Lead of Scottish Agritourism and Chair of the Global Agritourism Conference, said; “As a farmer, it has been a pleasure working with the chefs and team at P&J Live, and Abbey Ireland and UK, to bring the vision for this event, to life. Delicious lunch and dinner menus will feature many of the farmers that conference delegates will visit or meet, ensuring that this is a very unique dining experience.”

Thanks to ScotGov Rural for their support on this initiative showcasing the diversity of the country’s produce.

The Gala Dinner has been sponsored by Azets UK and lunches by Quality Meat Scotland (QMS)

With support from Scottish National Rural Network, Scottish Agritourism has been working on new resources for Scottish Agritourism members, centring on health and safety to help build a robust and resilient sector.

Agritourism and Associate members can access a Health and Safety Toolkit which is primarily focused on Farm Experiences, particularly those that include members of the public interacting with farm animals, in their Member Hub. The toolkit was authored by Trade Member, Gillian McLean, of GEM Safety Solutions, an experienced health and safety consultant.

In addition, all members will be able to access online training resource, Tayl, another Scottish Agritourism Trade Member. Members will be able to log in and access accredited online courses relevant to Health and Safety, plus several other topics, which will be useful to running or working in a business. We are delighted to offer this significant member benefit and are hugely grateful to Scottish Rural Network for their support.

Speaking at the Scottish Agritourism Conference in November, Scottish Agritourism Manager Laura Paterson, said; “Scottish Agritourism actively encourages farmers and farming families to welcome visitors onto their land. With that opportunity comes responsibility. Health and safety is not only about protecting customers and visitors; it is equally about safeguarding Scottish Agritourism members and their businesses. By establishing consistent, professional standards, we help protect individual businesses and the reputation and growth of the sector as a whole."

All members have received an email outlining access for both resources. Any member who has not should please contact us.

It's World Agritourism Day tomorrow (Saturday 16th May). The theme for this year is; Women Farmers Leading Agri Tourism and Sustainable Rural Economies Globally.

This really resonates at Scottish Agritourism. Our network is made up of incredible women, with two-thirds of businesses led by women who often juggle full-time work - on or off the farm - while driving their agritourism ventures forward.

In Scotland, more farm businesses that include agritourism or farm retail have female directors compared to those focused solely on agriculture. These women are securing the future of family farms and crofts, strengthening rural economies, and creating meaningful connections between consumers, farming, and food.

Happy World Agritourism Day, wherever you are in the world 🌍

Sector Lead, Caroline Millar, is speaking on the online World Agritourism Day celebration tomorrow at 9.55 AM (UK time) alongside a selection of fantastic international counterparts. Go to https://www.worldagritourismday.com/ for joining details.

A key part of the Global Agritourism Conference 2026 is the Global Agritourism Scholarship Programme, which is enabling more than 30 scholars from countries around the world to attend this year’s conference.

Through international collaboration and knowledge exchange, both the scholars and their home countries will benefit from new ideas, connections and shared learning across the global agritourism sector.

Ahead of the conference, scholars have been connecting online through a series of Zoom meetings with the Scottish Agritourism team and Julia Latto of Scottish Enterprise, who is leading the programme.

The scholarship experience includes full participation in the Global Agritourism Conference and Gala Dinner; attendance at the Royal Highland Show, with tickets kindly provided by RHASS, including a Scholars Reception; a visit to Barra Castle for an agritourism development workshop and farm tour; three scholars will be invited to share their experiences in Breakout Session presentations and 20 scholars will spend time with Scottish Agritourism member businesses on post-conference farm stays, to gain deeper insight into the sector and rural hospitality in Scotland.

The programme has been designed to create lasting international connections and strengthen the future of agritourism worldwide.

Just six weeks to go until the Global Agritourism Conference.
