With the U.S Federal Reserve Bank announcing a 0.50% interest rate cut this week, we saw investors jump back into stocks. The TSX enjoyed record highs, the S&P 500 broke out of its sidesways pattern and is trending upwards and the Nasdaq looks to be trending upwards to sideways.

For people invested in Fixed Income (Bond) funds, the rate drops mean the value of those funds is popping too!

No Legal Will is "Iron Clad". Any will can be contested in the courts. Your final wishes may not be met.
A BC judge just ruled that a woman's estate was "unfair" and "Gender biased" towards her son over her daughter and therefore awarded a greater share of her estate to the daughter. In spite of her wishes.
Very Important!! No one argued that the mother was incompetent, or not of sound mind. Rather, they simply disagreed with the fairness of the will.
I think you could easily argue that the Will was unfair in this case. One child recieved the lions share to be certain. But that misses the point. The point is a judge doesn't have to take into account your wishes. Their morality takes precedence over yours.
There are ways around this. If you want to make sure someone does not recieve part of your estate, speak to an advisor and ask them what they can do for you.

Inflation is back down to 2%.
Good news for people with a mortgage renewing. Bad news for Savings accounts and GIC's, but, if you have money in Bond funds, you should expect a nice boost of 2 or 3 percent over the next month or so as interest rates drop.
