When life changes hit hard, men often go quiet.
Stress gets buried. Emotions get minimized. Health gets pushed aside.

That’s why we created the Men’s Health Panel; to normalize help, support, and community connection. 🌿

If you’ve been carrying more than you’re saying… this conversation is for you.

She was teaching others how to honour their needs.

While completely ignoring her own.

Sira Laurel spent 15 years in senior leadership.

She built cultures. She coached teams. She helped people thrive.

And the whole time...

She was masking.

Hiding her neurodivergent, highly sensitive wiring
because the organizations she worked in demanded it.

The result was burnout so deep that she could not ignore what she had been doing to herself.

But here is what she says now.

That crisis was not a failure.

It was the moment she transformed into the leader she was always meant to be.

She called it a wider funnel.

And the moment she said it…

Everything made sense.

In this reel from the Give A Heck Podcast, leadership coach Sira Laurel explains something most high performers have never been told about themselves.

Your brain doesn’t filter out as much as others.

The sounds. The pressure. The emotions. The expectations.

It all comes in consciously.

Every single day.

And for high performers in leadership…
That’s not a character flaw.
That’s not weakness.
That’s wiring.

But when nobody tells you that…

You just assume something is wrong with you.
You push harder.
You feel more.
And you burn out faster than anyone around you ever will.
Because you were never taught how to manage a brain like yours.

You’re not weak.
You’re wired differently.

He was 14…

And already carrying something most adults struggle to face.

In this reel from the Give A Heck Podcast, Noah shares what it was like being diagnosed with depression at a young age…

and feeling like he had to keep it to himself.

Not because he wanted to…

But because of what might happen if he didn’t.

“Will people treat me differently?”
“Will they laugh?”
“Will they understand?”

So instead of talking about it…

He stayed quiet.

And that silence is something far too many people know.

Because sometimes the hardest part is not what you are going through…

It is feeling like you have to go through it alone.

This is not just Noah’s story.

It is a reminder of how many people are still carrying things in silence.

Some stories do not begin the way they should.

In this reel from the Give A Heck Podcast, Noah shares a deeply personal part of his life that shaped everything that came after.

His story does not start with stability.
It does not start with clarity.

It starts with uncertainty.

With questions.
With things no child should have to process.

And yet…

Like many people who face difficult beginnings, his family did everything they could to create some sense of normalcy.

To protect him.
To give him a chance.

Because sometimes strength does not come from how your story begins…

But from what you choose to do with it.

This is not just a story about where someone comes from.

It is about resilience.
About perspective.
About recognizing that your beginning does not define your future.

Technology was meant to make life easier. Yet many professionals today feel more distracted, mentally exhausted, and disconnected than ever.

In this reel, digital wellbeing expert Colin Corby explains how constant connectivity quietly reshapes your attention, presence, and ability to fully engage with your life.

On Give A Heck, Colin shares how reclaiming focus is not about rejecting technology. It is about creating intentional boundaries so technology serves your purpose instead of controlling it.

When you reclaim your attention, you reclaim your life.

This conversation is a powerful reminder that focus, clarity, and human connection are built through intentional action, not constant availability.

What happens when everything you thought defined success suddenly feels meaningless

In my conversation with John DeDakis, he shared how losing his sister to su***de and later his son to a he**in overdose, changed everything he believed about success. The career, the status, the accolades, none of it mattered in the face of real loss.

Instead of letting grief destroy him, he used it to redefine what truly matters. Writing became his lifeline. It helped him heal and helped him guide others through their pain.

John learned that success is not about climbing higher. It is about meaning, presence, and connection. It is about using your experiences, even the painful ones, to help others feel less alone.

If you feel like you are climbing the wrong mountain, his story is a reminder to rethink what success really means.
