𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗿𝗮, 𝗗𝗮𝘄𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵 🇧🇩

After 53 years, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has been formally dissolved through Ordinance No. 24, 2025, marking a pivotal reform in the nation’s fiscal architecture. In its place, two distinct divisions have been established under the Ministry of Finance: the Revenue Policy Division and the Revenue Management Division.

This restructuring separates tax policy-making from enforcement—an overdue step to eliminate conflicts of interest, enhance accountability, and improve administrative efficiency. The Revenue Policy Division will now focus on designing fair, forward-looking tax policies, while the Revenue Management Division will be responsible for enforcement and compliance.

The reform addresses longstanding issues within the NBR, including weak governance, overlapping mandates, and a lack of performance accountability. Though the transition brings challenges, it signals a clear commitment to a more transparent, modern, and responsive economic framework.
