As we begin the new financial year, we're pleased to share that we've been working behind the scenes on one of our biggest technology projects to date.⏰

Over the coming months, we'll be transitioning to a modern, cloud-based app stack to enhance the way we work with our clients. While some things may look a little different, these changes are designed to create a more seamless, efficient and secure experience.📥📝

ATO Smart Docs

These new systems will help streamline our processes, improve communication, simplify document requests and approvals, enhance document management, and allow our team to spend more time focusing on providing you with exceptional service.

This project has been many months in the making, and we're excited to start sharing it with you.

The Victorian Government has announced a cost-of-living relief package that will allow eligible Victorians to apply for a 20% rebate on light vehicle registration fees incurred between 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026.

How it works:
This rebate is for light vehicles and motorcycles registered to individuals or sole traders. You can receive rebates for up to 2 vehicles.

Heavy vehicles or vehicles registered by organisations aren't eligible.

You can apply for this rebate from 1 June 2026 to 31 July 2026. If your registration is due in June, you can still apply but will receive any eligible rebates from July.

You'll need to login or create a Service Victoria account and also have an Australian bank account to pay your rebate into.

All employers must lodge by 21 July 2026 — even if no tax is payable.

A friendly warning to clients that the current 60.9% discount on the fuel excise ends on 30 June.⏰⛽

The good news is although this full discount is ending, the Federal Government has announced an extension to the discount but only for half its current rate. As such, fuel prices will increase from 1 July so we recommend clients fill up at the bowsers prior to the increase.

With the discount being halved, the fuel tax credit rates will also increase to provide some relief for businesses that operate significant machinery or vehicles.🚚

At this stage, the discount will be scrapped entirely at the end of July, but we will keep you updated if there are any developments. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us.
