From 1 July 2026, new AML/CTF obligations will apply to some accounting firms, but not all. It depends on whether you provide designated services.

Heads up to accounting professionals and practice leaders:
Significant updates to the AML/CTF regulatory framework will take effect from 1 March 2026. 📆

AUSTRAC has published guidance on its expectations and the implementation of these reforms. These changes are an important development for firms with reporting obligations, and AUSTRAC is also releasing sector-specific starter kits to help businesses get set up efficiently. 📦
